Greenmount, Chidlow, Bellevue and Mundaring Anzac Day services expected to draw large crowds

Shire President David Lavell said the Shire was proud to support the event.

“This area is steeped in history and holds a special place in the hearts of many veterans and their families.

“Blackboy Hill was originally used as a training site for Western Australian soldiers enlisted to serve in World War I,” Cr Lavell said.

The commemorative site was upgraded in 2014-15 to accommodate more visitors.

“Thanks to upgrades in recent years, the increased capacity and accessibility at Blackboy Hill has ensured thousands of people can pay their respects at the annual service,” Cr Lavell said.
