Groups join to save golf course

Chairman of Golf WA Gary Thomas, who attended a public meeting in South Guildford recently to voice opposition to the proposal, said it was imperative that golf courses were retained for recreation.

The meeting also attracted state and federal politicians, City of Swan councillors and local residents and golfers, all concerned that another golf course would not be open to the public for future activity.

In a statement, the Gatti Family, who have owned the Rosehill Golf Course for the past 27 years, said the golf course would cease operation in July.

‘The family have made many enduring friendships and spent thousands of pleasant hours operating the course and associated facilities,’ the statement said.

It said: ‘Rosehill has been sold ‘
