High Wycombe students perform dandy musical at Midland Nursing Home

HIGH Wycombe students have started doing the rounds of nursing homes and hospital wards to show off their singing talents.

Matthew Gibney Catholic Primary School students visited the Midland Nursing Home on November 15 to perform a musical, Cock a Doodle Dandy.

As part of an initiative to showcase their talent to the wider community, the youngsters will also perform at St John Of God Hospital on December 5.

Year 4 students Mikayla Sharp (9) and Declan Jenkins (9) with Midland Nursing Home nurse Michelle Gray, resident Maria Strano, and admissions and welfare officer Sharon Kroon, and musical director Teresa Aldred.

The school won an excellence award for the musical in Catholic Education’s Performing Arts Festival earlier this year as well as winning an outstanding award and shield for Christian drama and an outstanding award for choral speaking.
