WA Opera Education Officer Terasa Letizia said It’s Opera not Oprah! was part of the WA Opera’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

“The talk will be a very fun introduction to the world of opera from where it began, how it started, a presentation of some of our operatic works, and how the art-form made its way all the way from Florence here to Perth.

“Opera stories have always reflected what was relevant to the people of the day, whether it was politics, love, comedy, death, drama. That’s why it’s survived, and continues to survive. It deals with human nature.”
