In the three years since Salvation Army Captain Rosemary Massey has been there, the congregation has more than doubled.
Even the number of musicians in its band has trebled to six.
The enthusiastic Captain Massey said its secret to success was ‘good fellowship and being family friendly’.
‘Much of our message has been passed on by word of mouth,’ she said.
On Sunday, there will be a chance to see first-hand why the church has been so successful, when it conducts the annual ChristmasCarol Concert.
The carols will get under way at 5pm, with special guest soloist Adam Penn and pianist Joanne Hartnett, along with the Salvation Army band.
There will be a free sausage sizzle and everyone is welcome. The church is at 371 Morrison Road.
