A FELLOW shopper returned items stolen by a woman from a Midland retail store who set off the security alarm when leaving.

The woman walked into the store and stole several items, putting them in her trolley and leaving without paying about 1pm on Wednesday, April 5.

After activating the alarm, staff members followed her and saw her get into a taxi and leave.

A member of the public followed her, recovered the items and returned them to the store.

Police have released CCTV footage of a woman who may be able to help with the investigation.

She is described as being in her mid to late 40s with brown hair tied up in a bun.

She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black strappy top and carrying a dark brown handbag.
