Kalamunda Labor candidate withdraws due to husband’s illness

THE Labor candidate for Kalamunda has withdrawn from March’s State election because of her husband’s life-threatening illness.

Tracy Destree advised Opposition Leader Mark McGowan she needed to focus on husband Simon’s medical care and recovery.

“Tracy has told me that it has been a privilege to work with the people of Kalamunda… but her family must come first,” Mr McGowan said.

“Both Tracy and Simon have been overwhelmed by the offers of support from family, friends and the local community and would like to express their deep gratitude to all involved.

“I can tell how difficult this recent period of time has been for her. Tracy has been a dedicated campaigner.

“On behalf of the entire WA Labor family I pass on our best wishes to Tracy, Simon and their family at this difficult moment.”
