PAM Lynch decided to trek Nepal for her 60th Birthday and hit the base camp three years ago.
She has since stretched herself even further with her commitment to reach the summit at Gokyo Ri, nearly 5400m above sea level.
However not all went according to plan.
Heavy snow meant a change of plans half way through the trek and to top it all of nature produced the ultimate test, the Anzac Day major earthquake that hit Nepal.
Dr Lynch was lucky to survive and since then has been speaking about her experience.
She will host a free talk at the Kalamunda Library, 7 Williams Street, Kalamunda on Wednesday August 10 from 6pm.
