Kalamunda SHS’s gifted and talented hosting art auction

Sally McGlewMidland Kalamunda Reporter

THE gifted and talented art students will hold an art auction fundraiser at Kalamunda Senior High School on July 22.

Budding artists have worked hard to generate works for the fundraiser event in the Graham Watson gymnasium at the school.

The school runs a gifted and talented visual arts program where students have the opportunity to work alongside talented tutors and artists on Saturday mornings to produce high-quality artworks.

The students, along with co-ordinator Zoe Wittber, are raising money to assist them in organising a trip to New York in 2018.

It will be possible to buy original artwork as well as prints at the auction.

All work will be affordable and perfect for gifts or the home.

There will also be some works from well-known local artists available during the auction, as well as students’ work.

Ms Wittber said the more support the group could receive, the more likely the students would be able to reach their goal of experiencing New York.

Donations of artwork from community members are being collected up until July 18.

To donate, contact the school or Ms Wittber via email at zoe.wittber@education.wa.edu.au.

The auction will begin at 6pm on Friday, July 22.
