Lesmurdie burglaries: Rockingham teen charged

DETECTIVES have charged a 16-year-old Rockingham boy with burglaries across several suburbs, including Lesmurdie.

The arrest was made as part of an investigation into burglaries in which vehicles and firearms were taken from East Victoria Park, Serpentine and Oakford in December and January.

“Detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Brown Crescent Seville Grove on Sunday,” WA Police spokeswoman Susan Usher said.

“It will be alleged during the search police located and seized six stolen rifles.

“A 16-year-old boy from Rockingham has been charged as a result of the search warrant.”

Charges include six counts of stealing, five counts of stealing a motor vehicle, two counts of home burglary, aggravated home burglary and aggravated burglary.

He is due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court on February 9.
