Liberals promise to beef up Guildford ferry services if elected

THE Liberal Party is promising to expand the ferry service in Guildford if re-elected.

Premier Colin Barnett said a $3 million jetty would be built at Guildford for commuters to the city and eastern suburbs as an alternative to train and bus and as a pick-up centre for the Swan Valley tours.

Mr Barnett said he would also work with operators to speed up the ferry service between Perth and Fremantle.

Transport Minister Bill Marmion said a working paper on the ferry service could not be released yet, as it was a draft report at present.
