THE Liberal Party is promising to expand the ferry service in Guildford if they are re-elected.

Premier Colin Barnett said a $3 million jetty would be built at Guildford for commuters to the city and eastern suburbs as an alternative to train and bus and as a pick up centre for the Swan Valley tours.

Mr Barnett said he would also work with operators to speed up the ferry service between Perth and Fremantle.

Transport Minister Bill Marmion said a working paper on the ferry service could not be released yet as it is a draft report.
