Man assaulted in attempted carjacking

JUST days after a similar case in Greenwood, details have emerged of another attempted carjacking in suburban Perth.

Police are appealing for witnesses over a serious assault of a man and in Forrestfield.

A man in his 20s was driving his white 2010 Toyota Yaris hatchback along Edinburgh Road between 3am and 3.50am on July 25.

Another man approached his car as he slowed down and smashed the driver’s window with a baseball bat, causing the victim to stop the car.

The armed man, with two other men, pulled the victim out of the car to assault him and steal his mobile phone.

Police said the victim received injuries, including a head laceration.

The victim was able to get into his car and drive away when another motorist drove by.

The offenders were described as being aged 20 – 25 years old and with dark skin.

Police wish to speak to the driver who passed the incident and anyone who have seen the assault or the men during the incident.

Anyone with dashcam footage of the area around Edinburgh Road, Hale Road, and Sussex Road in Forrestfield between 3am – 4am on July 25 are urged to come forward.
