Middle Swan: police call for witnesses to attempted armed robbery of fish and chip shop

POLICE are calling for information following an attempted armed robbery at a fish and chip shop in Middle Swan.

Regional Investigations Unit detectives said about 8.40pm on Sunday, June 25 a man entered the shop armed with a crowbar and syringe.

He approached the counter and demanded cash from the till.

At the time a small three-year-old child was sitting on the counter top next to the cash register and a staff member working.

Staff confronted the man and he ran from the shop without obtaining any cash.

He was seen getting into a nearby dark-coloured sedan and sped away.

It is believed there were others in the car.

Police are seeking information to identify the people and the vehicle involved.

The man is described as being fair-skinned with a slim build and aged in his early 20s. His face was covered by a balaclava.
