Midland detectives appeal for information about assault

MIDLAND detectives are seeking information about an assault which left a man with a fractured sternum last month.

He was found lying on the ground in George Street, Midland, on January 17 about 10.30pm after being hit with an object by a man believed to be in his early 20s.

The offender drove off in a silver Ford Falcon sedan and the victim attended hospital.

Police say he returned home from hospital and at 3.30am the next day heard shouting outside.

On opening his front door, he saw a man with two bottles containing liquid and a rag coming out the top.

He attempted to light the contents of the bottle while making threats towards the victim before fleeing when police were called.

Police believe the two incidents are linked and have described the offender as fair skinned, aged between 20 and 25, about 180cm tall, wearing a grey hooded jumper, blue bandana and glasses.

Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online.
