THE first birthday at Carpe Coffee in Midland will be a family affair for owner James Daly and his wife Caroline and son Thomas (8) since the birth of their daughter, Adelaide, four months ago.

The popular Midland cafe has been busy for 12 months, since it opened on May 21 last year.

It is Daly’s second cafe, the other, Carpe, is | in Perth’s CBD.

“We are very happy with the cafe so far, and we want to celebrate with coffees for $1 on the actual birthday, which is Saturday,” Mr Daly said.

Coffees would be $1 all day on May 21 at the small shop opposite the Midland Town Hall.

His two outlets suggest people Carpe Coffee before they Carpe Diem.

Mr Daly wanted to open his second coffee shop in Midland because he felt that the Leederville area already had enough outlets for a cappuccino strip.

“Instead we offer this wonderful, vibrant and eclectic area some freshly brewed beans and great service.”

Mr Daly grew up in Midland and loves the area.
