Midland woman charged after stabbing of teen

A MIDLAND woman has been charged with grievous bodily harm after an assault on a young relative left him fighting for life.

Police said the woman (35) boarded a bus with a man (18) at the Fremantle Train Station about 2.15pm yesterday.

Not long after departing, the bus driver asked the woman to exit the bus due to her conduct.

The man left the bus with the woman, and she allegedly stabbed him not long after.

The man received a stab wound to the chest and collapsed at the scene, while the woman fled.

St John Ambulance attended and transferred the man to Fiona Stanley Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

He remains in a critical condition.

The woman was taken into custody and charged with grievous bodily harm and two counts of breach of bail.
