MORE than 800 submissions have been received by the City of Swan over plans to build a McDonald’s behind the Guildford Hotel.

City of Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright said the City expected to make a submission on July 24 to the Metro East Joint Development Assessment Panel about the development application to build a McDonalds in Guildford.

“The City received 865 submissions from a variety of community members, agencies and organisations,” he said.

“All of these submissions are being assessed and will help to form the report.”

Once the report has been submitted to JDAP, a hearing date will be set. This is expected to take place on or before August 2.

Cr Wainwright said the community would be updated once the date was set.

“The City understands there is a lot of community angst surrounding this development application and will work to ensure all parties are kept up to date on any significant progress,” he said.

“I would also recommend that those interested in the upcoming JDAP hearing keep an eye on their website as hearing dates and agendas are published there.”
