Motorcyclist killed in Perth car crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed in car crash in Perth.

The accident happened at 7.45pm at the junction between Loton Avenue and Hyde Street in Midland.

Emergency services were called to the scene but the man died shortly after the crash.

WA Police confirmed major crash officers are investigating the fatal crash.

“Around 7:30pm a black Ford station sedan travelling along Loton Avenue has attempted to turn right into a driveway, when a motorcycle travelling in the same direction has collided with the rear door of the car,” a spokesman said.

“The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s received life threatening injuries and was taken to Midland Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

“The driver of the station sedan, a woman in her 20s, was not injured and is assisting with inquiries.”

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the crash or have dashcam footage of either vehicle prior to the crash.

The crash comes after another incident on Loton Avenue on Monday which involved an injured man and reports of a gun.
