Movida Midvale development: High-school sweethearts living the Great Australian Dream

Staff WriterMidland Kalamunda Reporter

WHEN childhood sweethearts Martin Nicholls and Natasha Rankin moved to Australia four years ago, their ambitions were to find good jobs, save some money and buy their own home.

The couple work in Cannington and Canning Vale; and now are excited new property owners at Movida in Midvale.

“We had been tracking the news about Movida for the past three months and can’t wait to move into our very first home,” Mr Nicholls said.

They are the development’s first homebuyers.

Though still in their early 20s, Mr Nicholls, a production machine operator, and Ms Rankin, a customer service officer, met through mutual friends in their teens and have been together for seven years.

“We didn’t want to wake up when we were 40 and realise we hadn’t got around to buying our own home,” Mr Nicholls said.

“You think about owning a property your whole life,” Ms Rankin said.

“It’s always your goal; to own your own home.”

“We’re currently renting in Midland and I own a food and drink delivery business locally so we know this area,” Mr Nicholls said.

“We’ve had great opportunities in Australia in terms of work and now the chance to invest in our own property; it’s been our dream for so long.”

They bought a 375sqm block in the Burrows release at Movida.
