WHILE hundreds of children had their first foray into acting under the direction of Terry Hackett, none was more famous than a young Heath Ledger.

Daughter Carrie Ridley-Clissold said the annual end-of-year nativity concerts organised by her mum at the Lesmurdie Day Care Centre were legendary.

“Every child had a part,” she said.

“This meant baby Jesus was visited by rabbits, bumble bees and lions.

“Mum always loved to tell people she had Hollywood stars Heath Ledger and Isla Fisher come through her centre and they had their first acting gig in the nativity play she directed each year.”
