A NEW $1.3 million administration building has been opened in the Kalamunda Shire for an independent public school.

Gooseberry Hill Primary School’s new administration building has come as a welcome addition to the former state school with one of the best reputations in WA for learning and outcomes.

Education Minister Peter Collier open the new building today, which will provide modern facilities needed for a growing school.

“Parents can meet with staff to discuss their children’s development in new private meeting spaces,” Mr Collier said.

“The original administration building has been re-purposed for activities like occupational therapy.”

Mr Collier said the new building also encouraged greater collaboration among staff.

The new building includes offices, a medical room and records room.

The school was built in 1972.
