Mr Pollard said the awards were an opportunity to give someone in the community a pat on the back.

‘This is a great opportunity to recognise individuals and groups in our community who have made a significant contribution to society in their capacity as a citizen over the last year or more,’ he said.

‘Past winners have all said how proud they were to be nominated and to have received such an award.

‘So please take the time to nominate those individuals or groups who are leading the way in being an active part of our community.’
