Sally McGlewMidland Kalamunda Reporter

Leslie Johnston’s dog, called Ying, was abandoned by her owner on a block of land in Breera and tethered by a chain to a tree. The vet told the RSPCA it appeared the dog had been there for some time. The wound was infected and inflamed.

RSPCA inspector Amanda Swift said the chain had caused a large deep wound.

Johnston was fined $2500 and ordered to pay $1300 in costs and banned from owning animals other than the dogs he currently has registered.
