Parking charge plan for paddock

On July 22, The Reporter reported about the informal parking area on Victoria Street that was exempt from the $2 parking fee because the road is unsealed. Paid parking cannot be introduced where there are informal parking arrangements unless the road is sealed.

PTA spokesman David Hynes said paid parking at Transperth stations was only enforced in official, marked bays.

The application to the City of Swan sought planning approval to develop a public car park with about 360 bays.

The council deferred the issue until the next council meeting on August 20.
