Hannah Retel is gearing up for the Bike for Heart Day.

GYM Tonic instructor Hannah Retel is preparing for one her longest classes, the annual Bike for Heart day, which will run for a massive 12 hours.

These 26 bikes will soon have 12 instructors and many keen competitors on board as the gym aims to raise more than $5000 for the Heart Foundation to help beat the biggest killer of Australians heart disease.

With all the furious pedalling, the participants will enjoy a fun-filled event with other like-minded fitness fans.

The event, on Saturday, July 18, will be held in the Gym Tonic studios on Canning Road, Kalamunda, and coincide with the Tour de France.

The class starts at 8am and will include special guests, business sponsors, cycling enthusiasts and workplace groups who will join the event as a team-bonding exercise.

Each instructor will take a one-hour shift and cyclists and supporters can swap when they get tired.

Anyone interested in sponsoring a cycle but not cycling can contact either Jordin or Eugene at Gym Tonic.

To become a sponsor, you must donate at least $100, with all proceeds going to the Heart Foundation, and a tax receipt will be made available for you to claim a deduction, Ms Retel said.

Your logo will be displayed on the cycle purchased and throughout the gym as well, so it helps promote local business while raising money for a good cause.

A party and celebration is planned at the gym after the event.
