Staff WriterMidland Kalamunda Reporter

LIVES and homes are no longer in danger from a bushfire on the outskirts of Perth.

A watch-and-act alert has been downgraded to an advice warning for parts of Mount Helena in the Shire of Mundaring.

The blaze is now contained and moving slowly, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services says.

“There is no threat to lives or homes,” DFES said in a warning.

“Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes.

“The fire started near the intersection of Lion St and Hummerston St in Mount Helena. It is burning towards Bernard Street.”

Residents are urged to stay alert and monitor their surroundings.
