Police and City join forces with CCTV

Joel KellyMidland Kalamunda Reporter

WA Police and Swan recently signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the operation and use of the City's CCTV system.

The City will provide viewing access to community- based CCTV live feeds for local police, allowing both organisations to view live footage.

Police are now able to monitor problem areas and act proactively if trouble is likely.

Central Metropolitan District Office Acting Inspector Craig Davis said that the strong partnership would bring benefits to the entire Midland sub-district.

"Striking this strong partnership with the City of Swan will allow us to better target anti-social behaviour in the Midland sub-district," he said.

"The combined approach will allow us to look at issues with the bigger picture in mind and will have benefits for the region."
