Police charge 3 boys over Midland Cemetery vandalism

A MIDLAND Local Policing team has charged three boys in relation to Friday’s vandalism at Midland Cemetery.

Police will allege the boys aged 10 and 11 damaged about 70 graves between 1pm and 1.30pm, smashing glass panels in head stones and flower vases.

Damage was estimated at several thousand dollars.

An 11-year-old Swan View boy was charged with two counts of criminal damage and one of trespass and disorderly behaviour. He is due to appear in Midland Children’s Court on July 27.

An 11-year-old Midvale boy and a 10-year-old Swan View boy were charged with criminal damage and are due to appear in the Midland Children’s Court on August 10.
