Police concern for missing man who walked out of St John of God Midland

UPDATE MONDAY AM: Missing man Leonard Wilcox was found last night and has been returned to hospital.

He was located on Bushmead Road, Hazelmere, about 8.30pm Sunday, a police statement said. Police thanked everyone for their help after Mr Wilcox left St John of God Hospital Midland on Saturday morning.

SUNDAY EVENING: Police are concentrating their search for missing man Leonard Wilcox (62) this evening on a walking trail that starts off Miller Street and leads to his home in Swan View.

Midland police began the search for Mr Wilcox after he walked out of St John of God Midland without telling doctors on Saturday morning, February 2. He was in hospital after suffering a stroke.

It is understood he was last seen in the vicinity of Clayton Street, Midland, at 10.50am on Saturday.

Mr Wilcox is described as 178cm tall, with a medium build, brown hair and eyes, and fair skin. He was wearing a navy blue T-shirt with a white logo, black shorts, white hospital socks and black shoes.

Police, who were joined today by SES workers, and his family are concerned for his welfare without medication. Anyone who sees Mr Wilcox is encouraged to callĀ 131 444.
