Police hunt Perth’s serial petrol thief

POLICE are hunting a serial petrol thief in Perth’s eastern suburbs.

Mundaring police say the man has targeted several service stations in Middle Swan, Mundaring, Midvale and Glen Forrest from last June to February 19.

He fills up with about $80 of petrol each time and drives off without paying.

Police say registration plates stolen from Midvale between August 31 and September 3 last year were used on a silver Toyota sedan for some of the offences.

Registration plates were also taken in Maylands on June 12.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe can help with their investigation.

He is described as light-skinned, aged about 45 to 55, with a large build and short grey hair.

The vehicle is described as a 1997 to 2002 Toyota Camry sedan.
