Police officer kicked in face

A POLICE officer was allegedly kicked in the face following a search of a Midland home yesterday afternoon.

Police allege a 28-year-old man kicked the officer at the Midland lock-up, resulting in a cut face and treatment at Swan Districts Hospital.

Earlier, police seized methamphetamine and cannabis, drug paraphernalia, cash, fireworks, pepper spray, a knuckle-duster and a flick knife from the man's Dudley Street home.

He faces charges relating to drugs, possessing controlled and prohibited weapons, obstructing police and assaulting a public officer.

He appears in the Midland Magistrates Court today.
