Police investigate Midvale house fire

POLICE have released CCTV footage from a Midvale house fire last year which continues to be investigated.

The fire at a house on Victoria Parade between 11pm and 7am on Wednesday November 27 caused more than $50,000 worth of damage.

It began when a container, believed to contain accelerant, was thrown at the front window of the house, causing a fire which spread to nearby rooms before extinguishing itself.

The occupant of the house, a woman in her 80s, heard a loud bang in the early hours of the morning, but went back to sleep and did not discover the damage until later.

Detectives have released a CCTV image of a vehicle seen in the early hours of the morning in the vicinity of the house.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
