Police seek to arrest second man over Midland home invasion

POLICE are seeking to charge a second man over a home invasion in Midland last month in which a resident was struck with a shovel and taken to hospital.

Midland detectives allege two men attempted to break into the Dudley Street house on April 29 about 3am.

They say a 62-year-old home occupant confronted the men, with one of them striking him with a shovel while the other stole property from in the house.

He received several cuts to his head and arm, and had to be taken to St John of God Midland for treatment.

A 28-year-old man from Rivervale has been charged.

Detectives are still seeking to identify the other man.
