The Lesmurdie resident will embark on a 700km journey on September 6 with a group of fellow dog lovers to help raise money for the Shenton Park Dogs’ Refuge Home, a cause close to his heart.

He said it was all about putting the fun into fundraising for a great four-legged cause.

‘With the scooter’s top speed roughly 65km/h, possibly more downhill with a tail wind, the ride might take a while, but we’ve had a huge amount of support from the community and we have some great sponsors involved, so we’re raring to go,’ he said.

Refuge president Karen Rhodes says she was hugely grateful for Mr Wilson’s support.

‘We’re so grateful to Gregor for participating in this fundraiser for our refuge because right now we’re absolutely full to the brim with over 100 dogs of all shapes and sizes looking for a second chance at a happy life,’ she said.

Company BGC pledged $2000 to the refuge in support of this year’s charity ride.

The event has also received assistance from Ace Scooters in Joondalup.
