Stratton mother and daughter’s rabbits win big at Royal Show.

For the past few years their hobby has earned them an array of prizes at the Perth Royal Show and they will be trying their luck again this year.

Last year Jacqui had five firsts, including best of breeds.

Rebecca was named champion exhibitor among the under-12s in 2013.

“We have 30 rabbits in an insulated and airconditioned shed,” Mrs Gleeson said.

“They are all my babies. Sago is my dream child. He is a cashmere lop and has won lots of trophies and ribbons.”

Mrs Gleeson said Rebecca bred netherland dwarfs.

“We have fun together looking after the rabbits and cleaning out the hutches,” she said.

“Over the years she has been beside me learning her timetables and practising her reading to the rabbits.

“I used to sign her reading books ‘Jacqui and rabbits’.”
