Membership Rewards Card for City of Swan

Laura PondMidland Kalamunda Reporter

The Membership Rewards Card program is a collaboration between the City, Swan Chamber of Commerce, Reporter publisher Community Newspaper Group and Membership Action Division (MAD) community network to offer discounts to members of community volunteer organisations and their families.

Mr Mancini, who runs Mancini Electrical, said being “community conscious,” he was immediately attracted to the program.

“I live in the City of Swan so I like to keep things as local as possible,” he said. “It’s a good program; it generates work and encourages people to support local businesses.”

More than 25 businesses have joined the program since it launched on November 2.

The card is free to registered members of volunteer-led community groups in the City and provides access to special offers from a variety of companies.

Mr Mancini said it was great to be able to provide benefits to volunteers.

“They’re volunteering their time and effort so there should be some kind of incentive or reward for doing so,” he said.

“It also encourages people to participate in volunteering to help the local community.”
