Riding for the Disabled Hills Group makes good use of grants to spruce up headquarters

RIDING for the Disabled Hills Group has added a splash of colour to its horse-riding arena in Sawyers Valley.

Coach Willie Warnock said along with new rainbow poles, the group bought a portable dressage arena with grants from the Shire of Mundaring and Rotary Club Mundaring.

The arena sets out boundaries and marker poles to define patterns for the dressage rider and horse to follow in competitions.

“Our first use of the dressage arena was at the group’s recent costume riding party,” Ms Warnock said.

“Our rider Rebekah Millard was judged by Rio Paralympian Sharon Jarvis.”

Ms Warnock said RDA Hills Group offers dressage training in its riding program, alongside hippotherapy and recreational riding.
