ONE of WA’s most dangerous roads will be upgraded under a $86 million project to improve road safety.

Treasurer Scott Morrison, Swan MHR Steve Irons and Hasluck MHR Ken Wyatt announced last week that the intersection of Roe Highway and Kalamunda Road would undergo works.

Mr Wyatt said the upgrades could potentially save lives while also easing traffic congestion.

“This is one of the most dangerous intersections in the state and certainly the most dangerous in the City of Kalamunda,” he said.

“Main Roads statistics show the intersection has recorded 201 crashes in the past five years, including 31 people injured or seriously killed.”

He said the project would boost business and jobs.
