Shire of Kalamunda invites residents to Green Card Training

SHIRE of Kalamunda is encouraging residents to come along to the next Green Card Training.

Introduction to Environmental Volunteering on Saturday February 18 at the Gooseberry Hill Multi Use Facility, 42 Ledger Road, Gooseberry Hill.

The workshop will run from 9am-midday.

It will cover all aspects of safety for volunteers working in bushland areas, with tools and chemicals.

The Shire has recommended it for those people keen to assist in volunteering in nature in areas in the Shire of Kalamunda, Shire of Mundaring and City of Swan.

Friends Group co-ordinators are encouraged to attend this workshop in their first year, and at least once every three years after that.

A morning tea is provided, and a further Bush Skills for the Hills is a series of free, hills-focussed workshops for the community.

The workshops are a refreshing mix of information and practical hands-on sessions designed to give participants both the why and how of managing land, bush and creeks in the hills environment.

Bush Skills for the Hills program for January to July has been released.
