A SPECIAL meeting of electors will be held this month to discuss the City of Swan’s Midland Oval Redevelopment Masterplan and plans for a road to be built through the oval.
More than 170 residents signed a petition calling for the special meeting, in the hope of acquiring more public green open space.
Midland Ward community spokesperson Rashelle Predovnik said 2015 business plan for the sale and development agreement for Lot 4 The Avenue did not contain information about the conditions that required a road be driven across the Midland Oval, so residents were not able to make comment.

Ms Predovnik said the lack of a business plan for Midland Oval acquisitions between 2012 and 2016 to develop Midland Oval Precinct also gave the community no opportunity to comment.
“The business plan is now out for public comment and the special meeting of electors will give an opportunity for business owners, ratepayer groups and those in the finance sector to ask more questions and get information,” she said.
“We are still hopeful the council and community can work together on this to get a design that better caters for seniors, residents, families and our youth.”
The special electors meeting will be held on June 18 at 5.30 at the Midland Town Hall.
