Street closure in aid of project

Staff ReporterMidland Kalamunda Reporter

The road, which was shut down to traffic earlier this month, was originally expected to be closed for only a month, but the City of Swan exercised its option to maintain the closure for the remainder of what is expected to be a 12-month construction.

Traffic is being diverted around the site, down Elgee and Robinson roads and Clayton Street, before linking back with Lloyd Street.

The project, being completed by Main Roads on behalf of the City, will create a new underpass to provide unimpeded access for emergency vehicles when the new Midland Public Hospital opens in late 2015.
