Justin BianchiniMidland Kalamunda Reporter

A STRUGGLING family from Midland has come forward to claim a Lotto windfall of $4.2 million.

The family, who bought the Division 1 ticket at Canning Vale Newsagency, originally thanked Lotterywest officials for what they thought was a $420,000 win.

“We had to sit them down and explain that they’d actually pocketed $4.2 million,” spokeswoman Pina Compagnone said.

“They immediately broke down before the husband turned to the wife and said they could now afford to pay their overdue power bill.”

“We’ve really been struggling to make ends meet,” he said.

“I don’t know what we’ll spend the money on but I can tell you we’ll spend it wisely.”
