Some of Perth’s favourite independent artists, emerging talent and special guests from throughout Australia will be at the workshops.

The Chrissie Parrott Arts Fringe World Festival Program’s Summer Full of Dreams begins with Rites, produced by Sally Richardson.

It is a contemporary Australian sports culture take on Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, which sees the intergenerational cast battling it out on a winner takes all or death challenge.

Kynan Hughes takes on several roles in Chrissie Parrott’s The Man, a physical theatre work that sees Hughes morphing between male characters inspired by ‘heroes’ of classical writers Kafka, Chekhov, Schultz, and other equally esteemed authors.

The 2014 Fringe World Festival, which runs between January 24 and February 23, has 450 shows on offer at more than 60 venues.

Chrissie Parrott Arts is offering seven new dance and theatre works across 13 days, as well as free dance workshops in contemporary dance and hip hop.
