Sarah BrookesMidland Kalamunda Reporter

SONGS from across the globe will be performed when the Swan Harmony Singers take to the stage in Swan View later this month.

Co-ordinator Maureen de la Harpe said songs from Ireland, Scotland, Australia, the United States and Norway would be featured.

“The ever popular California Dreamin’ was inspired by a dream of balmy LA weather during a New York winter while Scotland gives us a new version of the folk number The Skye Boat Song, currently enjoying new popularity as the theme song for the TV series Outlander,” she said.

“The Fields of Athenry is the much-loved anthem of the Irish rugby team, while The Green Hills of Albany and Nyungar Alleluia both have an Australian theme.
