THE Swan View community has rallied around their octogenarian neighbour to help spring clean her large block.

“Last Saturday 15 locals turned up to do tidy up Audrey’s garden including weeding and chopping out some big trees,” he said.

“Audrey was overwhelmed with all the work and the generosity of her neighbours who supplied morning and afternoon tea and some lunch.”

Mr Best said Audrey had struggled to maintain her 3035sq m block since her husband died three years ago.

“Her eldest son lives three hours away and her other son has a child with serious disability so they are unable to help their mum much,” he said.

“It’s been a pleasure to be able to help her out and see the community pull together for a worthy cause.”
