Swan View home invasion: police chasing leads after man loses finger in machete attack

A MAN has lost a finger after being attacked with a machete during a violent home invasion in Swan View.

Midland Detectives have released footage of the armed robbery that took place on Saturday, September 9.

Police said at 4.35am four men armed with machetes and firearms entered the house on Churchill Drive through the back door.

The men threatened a man and woman in their 40s and demanded cash.

The male victim managed to escape and the offenders gave chase.

A confrontation occurred in the front yard, where he was struck multiple times with a machete and lost a finger.

The woman inside the house was also assaulted.

The offenders stole the man’s gold Ford Falcon, which was found abandoned in Helena Valley the next day.

The victims were taken to Midland Hospital for treatment and the man was later transferred to Royal Perth Hospital.
