Swan View: man charged for allegedly hitting pregnant woman with block of wood

A MAN has allegedly punched a pregnant woman in the back of the head and continued to attack her as she lay on the ground outside a Perth home.

The 31-year-old is also accused of turning on a neighbour who came to the woman’s aid at Swan View on Saturday night.

The neighbour was left with a fractured skull, broken nose and possible fractured cheek, police said.

The woman knew her alleged attacker and was treated for bruising her to torso after also being kicked and hit with a piece of wood.

The 31-year-old fled the scene but was soon arrested, and is to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court on Monday charged with various aggravated assault offences.
