Things are heating up in the City of Swan election campaign

THE battle lines were drawn before nominations closed last Thursday for next month’s City of Swan election.

Swan Valley Gidgegannup ward incumbent councillor and mayor Charlie Zannino criticised fellow ward candidate Rod Henderson in an email about the proposed section of the Perth-Darwin Highway between Malaga and Muchea.

Mr Henderson returned the favour in his own email to residents.

Ballajura: Adam Kovalevs, Mel Congerton (incumbent), Maria Haynes (incumbent) and Darryl Evans will fight for two ward positions.

Ellenbrook: Cate McCullough and Rob Howes will contest for on position.

Midland Guildford: Maura Howlett, Kent Acott, Joe Marino, Ian Johnson, Todd Burgess, Rex McCrae, Mark Elliott (incumbent) and Sandra Gregorini (incumbent) will vie for two positions.
