Two charged after police chase in South Guildford

TWO men have been charged with stealing and vehicle offences after a chase through Dayton and South Guildford yesterday.

About 11.45am, police observed a Ford utility vehicle on West Swan Road.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued evading police before stopping on the Great Eastern Highway bypass.

The driver allegedly fled the vehicle, while the passenger was arrested at the scene.

The driver was arrested a short time later after a search involving police dogs and the Police Air Wing.

Police allege the Ford ute was stolen on Tuesday, January 31.

A 27-year-old man from Beckenham has been charged with 19 counts of stealing a motor vehicle, three counts of criminal damage or destruction of property, five counts of burglary.

He will appear in court on February 2.

A 26-year-old man from Alexander Heights has been charged with two counts of stealing a motor vehicle and one count of possessing a prohibited drug.
